About the role Mater Private Hospital Brisbane Perioperative Unit has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who is ready to take the next step as a Clinical Nurse (predominantly Neuroscience & Paediatric specialties) on a permanent full time or part time basis (we will consider 0.8 or 0.9). This role is ideally for someone looking to demonstrate skills in leadership, communication and coordination of patient care within the Neuroscience & Paediatric specialty areas within the Mater Private Operating Theatres working alongside the current CN’s in this area. Salary range: $54.45 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing Our Perioperative Clinical Nurses provide additional leadership and advanced clinical competency to our Nursing Team. You will use your extensive experience to provide a mentorship and guiding aspect to assist in the professional growth of less-experienced nursing team members, supporting the Nurse Manager in activities designed to aid the sustainability of the Clinical Stream and assist with skill development. About you As the successful candidate you will: Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions) More than 5 years’ experience in the Neuroscience or Paediatric specialty areas Floor Co-Ordinator experience or similar is required for this role High knowledge around problem solving and critical thinking regarding Neuroscience and Paediatric specialty equipment is necessary Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision-making skills Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times. Flexibility is required as you will be required to fulfil all components of a rotating roster including weekends and on-call You will have strong leadership ability and experience, excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to promote the philosophy and values of the Sisters of Mercy to all staff.
