Description Odyssey House NSW has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing AOD Multicultural Programs team on a part time basis for a fixed term. Odyssey House NSW is a leading provider of Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment and support in NSW and our Community Programs provide a holistic range of strengths based and recovery-oriented supports to those seeking hope and change in their lives, including Aboriginal specific and parenting programs. Odyssey Multicultural Programs team is spread across Southwest and Western Sydney alongside our Residential, Parent's and Children's, and Medical programs. The Community Development and Project Officer will play a pivotal role in championing community empowerment and capacity building, reporting directly to the Manager of Multicultural Programs. In this role, you’ll craft strategies, implement initiatives, and drive the evaluation processes of our dynamic culturally responsive community engagement activities. Your expertise in project management will be a beacon that guides projects to success, enhancing the efficacy and reach of our Multicultural Programs. Skills And Experiences ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA: • Relevant VET qualification. • (Desirable) Tertiary qualification in relevant field. • Previous experience in a similar community development role is preferred. • Experience working with multicultural or vulnerable communities. • Ability to engage with diverse community groups effectively. • Expertise in developing and maintaining strong relationships with community members and stakeholders. • Proficiency in planning, implementing, and evaluating community development projects. • Experience in managing timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with communities, stakeholders, and team members. • Capability to adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences. • An understanding and appreciation of multicultural perspectives and needs. • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. • Skills in developing strategic plans that align with organisational and community objectives. • Ability to identify opportunities for community development and engagement. • Demonstrable experience working in team environment to deliver coordinated support. • (Desirable) Experience working within a non-government AOD treatment program. • Computer literacy including understanding of MS Office Suite and use of Client Management Systems. • Demonstrable communication skills including report writing, case note writing. • Understanding of the principles of the Privacy Act and its practical implementation in service delivery. • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment, harm minimisation, care coordination and support strategies. • Knowledge of and commitment to implement the principles of WHS, EEO and continuous Quality Improvement. • Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence. • Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment. • Unlimited right to live and work in Australia. • COVID Vaccinated
