Your opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer to cover leave until January 2027. Please note this role is 4 days a week, 30.4 hours This role sits in our Operations and Maintenance group, who are dedicated to the safe and efficient delivery of water services through the operation and maintenance of our water, wastewater and resource recovery infrastructure. This team is vital to Urban Utilities’ purpose to “Enrich Quality of Life,” ensuring the safety of our people and customers, protecting public health and the environment, meeting customer needs, and minimising long-term service costs. Working within a team reporting to the Executive Leader Operations and Maintenance, the purpose of this role is to provide the General Manager and senior leadership team with a high standard of pro-active administrative, secretarial, project and support to enable the efficient and effective operation of the group. This position is more than a support role – it’s a people connector, event coordinator, and all-around operations professional who takes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm. Some of your accountabilities will include: Proactively plan and organise the workflow through the teams to meet business objectives, ensure set priorities are brought to each General Manager’s attention and outgoing work is appropriately coordinated and directed. Provide administration support and assistance to the General Managers, direct reports to the General Managers and colleagues, to achieve the organisation’s business requirements to the level of excellence and competency associated with the above functions. Plan, organise, and coordinate meetings and other events including liaison with suppliers on price and logistics to deliver successful cost-effective outcomes. Provide the General Managers with high level administration support by applying initiative to monitor, respond to and action e-mails, correspondence and telephone requests, informed by sound knowledge of business objectives and programs of work. Provide appropriate advice and information to managers and staff within Urban Utilities in a professional manner, and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, to enhance public perception of the organisation and the group and maintain confidentiality. Substantial relevant administrative and business support experience, preferably in an operational environment.
