Description The Role Bamara operates a driving school and drivers licence access program, and we are on the lookout for casual Driving Instructor. The Driving instructor role is responsible for providing individualised driving instruction to students in order to help them obtain their driver's license. This role will play a crucial role in teaching students the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques to become safe and responsible drivers. A Driving Instructor must have excellent communication skills, patience, and a strong understanding of traffic laws and driving regulations and possess a Driving Instructors Licence. The primary duties of the Driving Instructor are to: Support students all learners to drive and obtain their licence, Develop and implement strategies to engage young people with getting their licence. Key Duties/Responsibilities Conduct practical driving lessons for students. Teach students the rules of the road, including traffic laws, road signs, and defensive driving techniques. Provide instruction on vehicle operation and handling, including parallel parking, turning, merging, and braking. Demonstrate proper driving techniques and safety procedures to students. Assess students' driving skills and provide constructive feedback for improvement. Help students prepare for their driver's license exams by practising manoeuvres, hazard perception, and driving in various traffic conditions. Develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to meet the specific needs and abilities of each student. Maintain accurate records of each student's progress and attendance. Monitor and enforce safety regulations and ensure that students understand and follow all traffic laws and regulations. Stay updated on changes in driving laws and regulations to effectively teach students and ensure compliance. Candidate Attributes Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and instructions to students. Patience and the ability to remain calm and composed while teaching nervous or inexperienced drivers. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations. Exceptional observation skills to quickly identify and correct errors in driving techniques. The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students. Excellent organisational skills to develop lesson plans and maintain accurate records. Be confident in providing clear and concise instructions to students. Possess strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges or difficulties that may arise during driving lessons. Be reliable and punctual to ensure that all scheduled lessons are conducted on time. Skills And Experiences Our Driver instructors must meet the following criteria Be able to mentor and supervise learner drivers. Ensure vehicles are fully maintained and roadworthy. Contribute to a great program that supports young drivers to be safe, skilful and licensed. Have some experience mentoring learner driver's (family or friends) Have a driving instructors licence Clean driving record Pass a police check Pass a working with children clearance
