We are seeking experienced strategic planning professionals to help deliver this vision. There are two (2) Full Time opportunities available; one Permanent Full Time and one Term contract until December 2026. About the role This position leads the delivery of priority strategy and planning projects that support Council’s long-term growth strategic objectives. Working within the City Futures team in Council’s City Strategic Planning Unit, you will manage complex, high-profile projects and contribute to the development and implementation of key planning strategies, policies and plans. This includes strategic research and advocacy initiatives, as well as preparing and assessing master plans, planning proposals, development control plans, development contributions plans and voluntary planning agreements. You will work collaboratively across Council and with external stakeholders to deliver integrated, evidence-based planning outcomes, while supporting advocacy, monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives. On a daily basis you will: Lead and deliver strategy and planning projects and programs Prepare, assess and implement planning strategies and policies Manage complex projects within tight timeframes Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Prepare project plans, reports and monitoring & evaluation projects Identify and progress strategic opportunities aligned to Council priorities About You You are a highly capable planning professional with strong strategic, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable operating in complex environments and can balance competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes. You will bring: Demonstrated experience in strategic and/or statutory land use planning Proven ability to manage complex projects and programs Strong understanding of planning legislation and policy framework Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability Experience in local government or a large, complex organisation is highly regarded. Qualifications Degree qualification in town planning, urban planning, public policy or a related discipline relevant to strategic planning within local government or a complex organisational environment. We are offering an attractive remuneration from $121,367.67 to $133,651.15 plus 12% superannuation.
