About the Role The LC4I SPO is seeking a Specialist Electrical Engineer to support the Long Range Fires C4 Modernisation capability within the Platform Integrated Electronic Systems (Plat-IES) team. The role focuses on the integration of military C4 systems onto Australian Army platforms. The successful candidate will provide electrical and power engineering expertise across design, certification, integration, verification and validation activities to ensure technical integrity of electrical systems within ADF environments. The position reports to the Project Director (PD) LRF C4 Mod and works collaboratively across Government, industry and Defence stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Conduct requirements analysis and development Design and implement electrical and power systems Prototype and support trial installations Perform Verification and Validation (V&V) Support certification activities and regulatory compliance Conduct contract deliverable reviews Plan and deliver engineering services aligned to Defence standards Generate design documentation and specialist engineering reports Conduct hazard analysis and reporting Support Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Detailed Design Review (DDR) Technical Requirements Design RF, data and electrical cabling for military C4 integration Draft technical drawings using CAD tools suitable for design approval and prototype manufacture Conduct quality review of manufactured cable prototypes Integrate radios, amplifiers (high power and low noise), filters, couplers, splitters, antennae, phase lock loops and onboard compute systems Support vehicle and platform networking integration Perform electrical and power certification of C4I systems Use test equipment to measure system performance Support development of V&V plans, procedures and reports Essential Qualifications & Experience Higher degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent 7 years relevant industry experience Must hold NV1 (minimum) Experience delivering services aligned with Australian and International Standards Ability to work onsite minimum 3 days per week Highly Desirable Previous Defence experience RF environments and wireless communications experience Contested communications or electronic warfare domain exposure Land vehicle platform integration experience Experience with US Export Controls, TAA and Third Party Retransfer Continuous improvement and process optimisation experience
