Description About the Role Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking a skilled, trade-qualified carpenter to join our in-house Property and Facilities team at our Spring Hill campus. The Property and Facilities department supports the School through a wide range of activities, including refurbishment projects, construction of new buildings, landscaping, general maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and security. This is a hands-on role offering a wide variety of work. You will be part of a supportive team that takes pride in ensuring the School's properties, facilities, buildings, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standard. As the Carpenter, you will carry out day-to-day maintenance, installations, refurbishments, and minor construction works across the School’s campuses. About You You are a practical, experienced tradesperson who enjoys varied work and takes pride in quality workmanship. You will bring: Proven experience in carpentry installations, building maintenance, refurbishments, and minor construction works Ability to read and work from drawings, plans, and technical documentation Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise jobs and meet deadlines A practical approach to problem-solving and the confidence to recommend solutions A strong safety mindset and sound understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements Flexibility to adjust start and finish times when needed Physical capability to carry out hands-on maintenance and manual handling tasks. Essential Requirements: Trade qualification in carpentry Current Queensland Class C Driver Licence General Construction Induction (White Card) Ability to obtain and maintain a Positive Working with Children Check (also known as a Blue Card).
