Mine Geologist | FIFO 8:6 | Open Pit Operations TSS Group are recruiting an experienced Mine Geologist to support an established open pit mining operation in Western Australia. This is a FIFO role on an 8:6 roster, reporting to the Geology Superintendent and working as part of a site-based geology team. The role focuses on grade control, ore definition and reconciliation to ensure consistent delivery of ore quality to the processing plant. The Role Key responsibilities include: Grade control block design and ore classification in line with site protocols Ore mark-up, ore spotting and supervision of ore extraction Highwall, floor and active face mapping Planning and supervision of RC and diamond drilling programs RC chip and diamond core logging Stockpile management, ore tracking and blending input End of month reconciliation and reporting (ROM and mill) Geological data entry, QAQC compliance and database management Use of Surpac and geological modelling software to interpret and manage data Supporting graduate geologists and contributing to site geology projects Maintaining strong safety standards and compliance with site systems Skills & Experience Tertiary qualification in Geology Experience in hard-rock open pit mining geology roles (e.g., rare earths, gold, iron ore, nickel, lithium) Strong grade control and ore control experience Experience supervising drill rigs and managing drilling programs End of month reconciliation experience Proficiency with Surpac and MS Office Exposure to Datashed or AcQuire databases Sound understanding of QAQC standards and processes WA C-Class Driver’s Licence Roster & Location FIFO 8 days on / 6 days off Site-based operational role This position suits a hands-on Mine Geologist who is comfortable working closely with mining and processing teams in an operational environment.
