Our Role We are excited to offer a part-time Music Teacher role available for immediate commencement, working in our vibrant, rigorous and collaborative Junior School. This is a part-time FTE 0.47 supporting all year levels of our Junior School, delivering an excellent Music and Choral program for students in the ELC and Junior School. Responsibilities include : Plan an educational program which is informed by evidence. Deliver a consistent, clear and sequential sequence of learning that builds upon students’ prior knowledge, gives explicit direction and enables them to achieve maximum growth. Assess students’ learning, providing timely feedback to both students and parents. Demonstrate expertise in areas of Music with a particular focus on choral. Participate in the creation, implementation and evaluation of curriculum. Show excellent curriculum knowledge, e.g. Victorian Curriculum, especially in their chosen specialist area. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure cohesion, continuity and progression in the curriculum. Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents, fostering an environment conducive to learning and enthusiasm Engage with passion in all areas of Kingswood College life Uphold the values and vision of Kingswood College, contributing positively to our community Develop and implement an outstanding choral music program for Junior School Successful applicants will: Hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration. Have a Bachelor of Education or equivalent qualification specialising in Music, along with relevant teaching experience. Have experience implementing the Kodaly methodology in a classroom music program with relevant training through KMEIA. Be a choral music specialist, with relevant experience and/ or qualifications. Demonstrate a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering their academic and social development. Possess strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple demands and timelines effectively. Exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented approach with a growth mindset and willingness to engage in continuous professional development. Have excellent curriculum knowledge, particularly in literacy and numeracy, and a commitment to implementing best practices.
