Connect People is currently seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a high-performing team on a short term contract within the water supplier space. About the Role Reporting to the Commercial and Finance Manager, you will be responsible for financial reporting, asset accounting, and compliance activities for a government-owned bulk water supplier. You will be supporting operational decision-making while ensuring responsible management of public funds and critical water infrastructure. What’s in it for you? Complete month-end and year-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with accounting standards and government requirements. Manage bulk water billing, including reconciliation of metered volumes, tariffs, and revenue. Review operating costs and capital expenditure, and investigate variances. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management, regulatory, and audit requirements. Maintain internal controls and support audit, Treasury, and regulatory processes.
