Status: Casual/Part-time – Term Time Only Line Management: The Barista & Kitchen Hand is directly responsible to the Chief Operating Officer through the Canteen and Cafe Manager. Responsibilities The Barista & Kitchen Hand is responsible for supporting the Canteen and Cafe Manager in the efficient daily operation of the School’s food service areas. Primary Duties Deliver professional front counter service for the Cafe and Canteen. Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages to barista standard. Receive and unpack deliveries Provide friendly, consistent, and efficient customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Additional Duties: Assist with kitchen food preparation for canteen meals, snacks, and lunch orders. Perform other duties as directed by the Canteen and Cafe Manager. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required Qualifications and/or experience working in a cafe or other food service environment. Barista skills and hands-on experience in coffee and beverage preparation (highly regarded). Demonstrated passion for coffee, from bean to cup, with a commitment to quality and consistency. Food Safety training. Current First Aid Certificate. Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly as part of a small, close-knit team. Proven customer service skills, with a warm, welcoming approach.
