Job Description Lead Cyber Advisor Long term Contract role – Federal Govt. Dept. ACT - Onsite Australian Citizenship with NV1 Clearance About the Role: A high‑performing Federal Government cyber security team is seeking an experienced Lead Cyber Advisor to support security risk assessments, uplift security posture and guide the development of key security documentation across complex ICT environments. You will lead security risk assessments, contribute to accreditation activities, and provide expert guidance on system and application security designs. This role requires strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently with senior executives and diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Conduct security risk assessments across Azure Cloud, legacy systems, AI technologies and complex ICT environments. Review and contribute to the development of security documentation including SSPs and related artefacts. Provide expert guidance on PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight requirements. Present risk assessment findings to senior executive audiences. Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to address system risks and recommend improvements. Identify opportunities to uplift the organisation’s security posture. Troubleshoot complex issues and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting security risk assessments within Government. Experience working with Azure Cloud, legacy ICT systems, AI technologies and complex environments. Current knowledge and experience providing guidance on application and system designs relating to PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of Operational Technologies (desirable).
