The Role The Associate Director, Owner Investment Programmes will support the expansion and execution of IFM’s Owner Strategy, which aims to encourage active ownership and build greater mutual strategic support among IFM and the 16 profit-to-member superannuation and pension funds who own IFM and are the custodians of the retirement savings of over 25 million people. This role will help develop and maintain new frameworks, tools, and methodologies to facilitate the generation of collective investment initiatives that align with the organisational objectives of the industry superannuation funds who are IFM’s owners, enhance the quality of IFM’s relationship with owners, support the successful engagement with IFM’s Owners Council, improve coordination across the firm, and connect owner objectives to IFM’s deal origination, asset management, and policy advocacy. The position requires strong stakeholder engagement abilities, analytical synthesis, and problem solving in complex matters, as well as the capability to facilitate multi‑layered interactions across IFM’s owner verticals. Working closely with IFM’s Global Client Solutions team and other internal stakeholders, the Associate Director will contribute to the orchestration of collective investment programs, improved data and reporting practices, and the co‑creation of thematic investment and public policy strategies. Your Background and Experience 10 years’ experience in a relevant investment role (e.g., superannuation funds, public investment authorities, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, or asset consulting). Experience operating in stakeholder‑rich environments with complex decision‑making and governance processes. Degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, mathematics, actuarial studies, law); graduate degree and CFA desirable. Broad understanding of investment asset management, portfolio construction, and manager selection. Understanding of the evolving structures of large institutional owners, including multi‑layered investment teams and governance frameworks. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working across functions and joining up IFM talent. Ability to synthesise diverse perspectives and generate clear insights for complex, multi‑stakeholder issues. Experience developing tools, frameworks, monitoring systems, and materials for internal and external audiences. Strong capability in information management, MI collation, and CRM‑enabled engagement processes.
