Lead the charge against invasive weeds and protect our beautiful LGA Be the go ‑ to field expert driving smarter, safer and stronger biosecurity outcomes Permanent position of 38-hours per week The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking an experienced Senior Biosecurity Officer (Weeds & Pests) to support the delivery of vital biosecurity programs under the Biosecurity Act 2015 . This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional who enjoys a mix of field work, technical problem‑solving, and community engagement. About the role As a Senior Biosecurity Officer, you will provide advanced support in weed identification, inspection, compliance and integrated weed management. You'll undertake complex field inspections, contribute to operational planning, prepare professional reports, and support ongoing improvement of biosecurity programs. You will also share your expertise by mentoring and supporting other team members. About you You bring strong field experience, sound judgement and a passion for environmental protection. You are confident working autonomously in the field, engaging with landholders, and preparing clear and accurate documentation. You value teamwork, safety and delivering high‑quality service to the community. The successful candidate will have: Certificate III in Conservation & Ecosystem Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture or similar Demonstrated advanced field experience in weed identification and control AQF3 Chemical Accreditation (ChemCERT) Completion (or ability to complete) NSW DPI Introductory Biosecurity Legislation modules Current Class C Driver Licence & White Card What's on offer?
