OUR CLIENT Based in the Arundel area, our client is a specialist in technical safety and engineering services to a niche industry. While the business is highly successful in its field, the internal finance and admin processes are currently quite manual. They are looking for a finance professional who understands technical workflows and can help modernise the way the back office operates. YOUR ROLE As the Finance & Business Support Lead, you will take ownership of the finance function and the data that drives it. This isn't a role for a data-entry clerk; it requires someone who can look at manual financial processes and find a faster, smarter way to get the job done. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the books are accurate and the month-end reporting is ready for timely review without the need for constant supervision. Your key responsibilities will include: Xero Management: Full-function handling of A/P and A/R. You will ensure invoices are issued promptly and take ownership of the collections process, ensuring accounts receivable are followed up in a timely and scheduled fashion to maintain healthy cash flow. Purchasing & Logistics: Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of orders, ensuring equipment is tracked, received, and accounted for correctly. Month-End Reporting: Preparing the General Ledger and monthly Trial Balances to a high standard for review. Process Improvement: Identifying manual data entry bottlenecks and introducing better digital tools or workflows to tighten the ship. General Administration: Maintaining the administrative standards required to support a specialised technical team. IS THIS YOU? You have deep expertise in Xero and understand how the finance side of a small-to-medium business actually works. You have a natural affinity for technical or engineering environments; you pick up industry nuances quickly and enjoy the logic of how a technical business operates. With at least 5 years of Xero experience or a Cert IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting, you pride yourself on being the person who just gets it done. Role Essential Skills: Xero Expertise: Fast and accurate full-function accounting software experience. Efficiency Mindset: A proven track record of finding better ways and using software to reduce manual workloads. Technical Aptitude: The ability to understand technical workflows and integrate them with financial reporting. Role Desirable Skills: Dynamics Lite experience or similar ERP-adjacent tools.
