An ambitious, collaborative global law firm is seeking an HR Manager to join their Melbourne team and play a pivotal role in supporting staff and partners across the firm nationally. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of HR operations, influence business decisions, and shape the employee experience in a dynamic, growing environment. What you’ll be doing: Provide practical, strategic, and commercially minded advice to staff, supervisors, and partners on all employment matters - including performance management, disciplinary issues, pay, workplace behaviour, resourcing, and leave management. Act as a key point of contact for HR queries from employees and partners. Lead end-to-end recruitment for legal and non-legal roles, including the Melbourne summer clerk and graduate programs. Manage and develop a small, high-performing HR team. Drive annual processes such as performance evaluations and salary reviews. Develop and implement HR projects locally and nationally, contributing to strategic initiatives. Collaborate with the Learning & Professional Development team to facilitate training and development opportunities. Lead work health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives in line with legislation and firm policy. Establish and participate in industry networks to attract talent and strengthen the firm’s HR profile. What we’re looking for: Broad HR experience across employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations. Strong people skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach. Analytical and project management skills, with the ability to deliver HR initiatives effectively. Experience in professional services, ideally law firms is essential , but enthusiasm, mindset, and capability are key.
