About The Role As the Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) - Maternity, you will play a key role in shaping the capability, confidence, and clinical excellence of our midwifery workforce. You will lead and deliver education programs, support junior and developing midwives, and promote a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement across the service. On a daily basis, you will facilitate teaching sessions, support clinical skill development, mentor new and transitioning staff, and contribute to strengthening clinical practice standards. You will be supported by Midwifery Unit Managers, Senior Midwives, and the Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery (Maternity & Gynaecology). Mentorship is embedded within the service, and you will be encouraged to pursue further professional development, innovation projects, and secondment opportunities across the maternity service. This is a role where you can grow as a clinical leader while supporting others to thrive. About You You are a clinically credible midwife with a passion for education, leadership, and advancing midwifery practice. You Bring Strong teaching and facilitation skills Excellent communication and relational skills Leadership capability and the confidence to guide and mentor others Advocacy for midwifery learners and new staff An organisational mindset with a focus on quality improvement A genuine commitment to your own ongoing professional development Essential Requirements Current midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Postgraduate qualification in Midwifery (preferably Masters level) with a demonstrated focus on education, teaching, and clinical leadership.
