The Maternity Unit at LGH LGH is the major referral hospital for Northern Tasmania. Our team supports the birth of approximately 1,600 babies each year. Facilities include: 6-bed Labour Ward 30-bed Maternity Unit 9-bed Special Care Nursery Work across diverse models of care: antenatal, birth, postnatal (including community-based care), Midwifery Group Practice, and Team Midwifery.
