The Practice Management Coordinator supports the efficient operation of the Division by managing expenditure, budgets, financial reporting and forecasting, and overseeing the procurement of external legal services and associated billing processes. The role coordinates and prepares reports and Executive clearances for the Office of Legal Services Coordination (OLSC) and produces high quality documentation for internal and external stakeholders and governance committees. It also supports the Division to leverage IT and AI advancements by coordinating initiatives that improve systems, technology use and knowledge management. The successful candidate will present to staff and senior executives on key operational matters, including finance, procurement and knowledge management systems. They will research, implement and maintain processes to ensure compliance with the Legal Services Directions, Financial Management and Business Rules, and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act. The role develops standard operating procedures and guidance materials, provides specialist advice, drives process improvements, manages legal databases, and contributes to team capability through supervision, coaching and mentoring. The key duties of the position include Demonstrates the ability to apply financial legislation, policies and principles to manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and deliver accurate financial reporting and advice within a Commonwealth environment. Uses IT, information and knowledge management systems - including emerging AI tools - to improve information sharing, streamline processes and support efficient decision making.
