Role Purpose The Manager role will enhance AIGCC’s engagements in India with key corporates and policymakers to convey and embed investor perspectives on climate and sustainability into corporate planning and policymaking . This role involves working closely with both international and domestic investors part of AIGCC’s network, developing and managing relationships with policymakers and corporate leadership and leveraging sectoral expertise to enhance the pace and scale of transition across key sectors . This role reports to the Director of Policy, working closely with colleagues based in India and in AIGCC’s corporate engagement team. Key Responsibilities Support AIGCC’s policy engagement work in India, working with the Director of Policy and team to develop and implement a strategy for engagement particularly on sectoral transition pathways . Areas of work will include responding to policy consultations in India on transition and sustainable finance , organising strategic stakeholder engagement sessions with policymakers to provide feedback on climate policy developments. Support the development and functioning of AIGCC’s India working group that brings together domestic and international investors that operate in India, implementing AIGCC’s India strategy that aims to strengthen climate stewardship among investors active in the market. Identify and support priorities for investor engagement with corporates and policymakers that arise from the working group meetings. Support the development of an engagement strategy to strengthen engagement levers with corporate enterprises in India through Climate Action 100 (“CA100”) Leverage existing engagements with seven focus companies in India that are within CA100 , by providing necessary support in building investor capacity on the relevant themes to progress corporate engagement with Indian SOEs and conglomerates on climate Monitor developments across other AIGCC working groups (including Engagement and Policy, Physical Risk and Resilience, Paris Aligned Investment, Forest and Land Use and Energy Transition ) and develop materials relevant for the India working group on relevant areas for information or implementation and/or adaptation to the local context. Develop content for AIGCC communications including, for example, AIGCC’s monthly member meetings, member case studies, report publications and related member communications material, as . Promote AIGCC’s advocacy goals through multiple communication channels, including representing AIGCC in forums and public events, as . Experience & Capabilities Essential At least seven years’ experience in any of the following areas: electricity, industry, transport, climate finance, or related clean growth sectors . Fluent spoken and written English a must . Business-level language skills in other major Indian languages, especially Hindi is preferred. Strong sectoral expertise and technical understanding Demonstrated experience working with senior policymakers in the Indian / regional markets Experience in supporting and coordinating the delivery of outcomes from international collaborations across multiple time zones, markets and cultures. Experience designing and managing engagement s / campaigns or other significant and complex projects characterised by changing dynamics and myriad relationships. Ability to evaluate workload and prioritise projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Strong organisational , project management, writing, verbal communication and interpersonal and skills. Able to direct and manage projects at the same time. Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively report on program achievements. A motivated and proactive self-starter, and confident working independently and as a team player in a fast-growing organisation in a start-up environment.
