We are seeking a reliable and motivated Patrol Assistant Manager to join the Mountain Operations Team. This role requires an adaptable leader who can think on their feet, respond quickly to operational challenges and make decisions in fast paced environments. The Patrol Assistant Manager must exhibit exceptional communication and customer service skills, build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders, and maintain strong attention to detail to ensure smooth and efficient departmental operations. This role is an ongoing full-time position that requires seasonal leadership, during shoulder seasons, winter resort operations and summer MTB operations. About The Role Lead and support the Patrol team, overseeing daily operations, training, rostering, and overall team development for summer MTB, winter and shoulder season operations. Ensure safe and efficient mountain operations through oversight of slope clearance and run checks, safety equipment use, and strong coordination with Mountain Operations teams. Provide advanced first aid and lead emergency response efforts including guest transport, avalanche control support, and search and rescue operations, with accurate and timely reporting. Operate snowmobiles, 4x4 vehicles, rescue sleds and other patrol equipment safely and in line with company policies. Maintain high compliance standards through thorough safety checks, incident reporting, and accurate patient care documentation. Support year‑round Patrol operations across winter, mountain bike, and shoulder seasons. Skills & Experience Extensive experience in advanced first aid in winter and summer MTB operations Excellent communication via radio Strong leadership and communication skills Valid ASPA qualification Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain) Full drivers licence Experience riding snowmobiles Experience in lift evacuation Experience in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, escalation and accident prevention About Thredbo Thredbo is Australia’s premier year-round alpine destination.
