Senior Systems Engineer Job No: 678756 Sydney - Inner Suburbs & CBD, Brisbane - Inner Suburbs & CBD Max Term Full Time IT Pay Band 5 Drive innovation and influence secure, modern engineering practices across delivery teams 24-month max term contract opportunity with possibility of permanent Brisbane or Sydney – with flexible work options About the Role As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will support the design, build and operation of continuous delivery platforms that enable development teams to deliver with confidence. Working within the Engineering Practice, you will contribute to modern DevOps and platform engineering approaches while improving reliability, security and developer experience across the organisation. What You’ll Do Design, build and maintain continuous delivery platforms that support secure and reliable software delivery at scale. Drive automation and self-service capabilities that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency. Support development teams by applying strong engineering practices and sharing knowledge across the platform community. Contribute to platform reliability through monitoring, incident support, documentation and disaster recovery planning. Partner with technology, security and vendor teams to deliver platform improvements aligned to strategic roadmaps. What You’ll Bring Strong experience in Platform Engineering and continuous delivery using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible and pipeline as code approaches. Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Groovy, Bash or PowerShell to support system administration and platform operations. Hands-on cloud engineering experience with AWS or Azure, including Linux-based environments. Experience operating secure development or application security tooling within an enterprise environment. Confidence working with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Splunk or Dynatrace to support resilient platforms.
