The Opportunity Consolidated Power Projects is embarking on a significant payroll and HRIS transformation — implementing IFS, transitioning from Micropay to HR3, and standardising processes across our national operations. With multiple businesses under the Quanta Services Australia (QSA) banner and several acquisitions underway, we are building a unified, future‑proof enterprise solution. To support this major body of work, we are looking for a Payroll Systems Specialist — on a 18-month fixed-term contract to join our high performing Finance team, reporting to the Shared Services Manager. You will be someone who understands payroll, thrives in complex systems, and loves solving problems. This is not a transactional payroll role. This is a project‑driven, analytical and collaborative opportunity where you’ll help design, test and implement the payroll solutions for the entire group. Deep‑dive into payroll processes across multiple businesses to understand current‑state and design improvements “Live and breathe” IFS and the new HR3 environment Review and refine documentation, rules, workflows and legacy processes Participate in vendor meetings, troubleshooting, solution design and project workshops Test configurations repeatedly across multiple businesses using JIRA Support re‑testing, defect resolution and system validation Use ClickLearn to support training and documentation for end users Challenge outdated processes and influence new, efficient ways of working Provide recommendations that shape the enterprise solution rollout Collaborate with the broader HR, Payroll, HCM and Finance teams during go‑live Skills And Experiences About You To be successful in this role, you will possess: Systems implementation experience Experience with HRIS systems, complex payroll processing, including interpretation of varying Enterprise Agreements Strong payroll knowledge (Awards, EAs, payroll governance) Experience in payroll/HRIS systems and software implementation projects Ability to troubleshoot, analyse and question existing processes High comfort with repetitive testing cycles in systems Confidence working with vendors, SMEs and cross‑functional teams Fast learning, low‑hand‑holding, high‑initiative mindset Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently, yet collaborate broadly Essential: Experience with IFS, HR3, Micropay or ERP/HRIS transformations.
