An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Rates Officer to join the Finance team. This position plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused rates and revenue service to both internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring that rates and revenue administrative functions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Council policies and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities Process change of address requests, notices of sale/transfer, Section 603 certificates, journals, refunds, and postponed rates Review and process pensioner rebate verifications Enter and confirm adjustments to Domestic Waste and Commercial Waste charges Reconcile electronic funds transfers (EFT) of rate payments Process lot aggregations in accordance with Council policy Review and process rate category changes and exemption requests Undertake debt recovery for outstanding rates and charges Provide accurate and timely advice to internal and external customers Respond to written and verbal enquiries Maintain accurate registers, manuals, and records Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Support performance goals and KPIs within the Rates Team About You Qualifications: Certificate in a business-related field or bookkeeping Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in a local government rates and revenue environment Skills & Capabilities: Strong knowledge of local government rates and revenue legislation Excellent customer service skills Well-developed written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and numeracy abilities High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Whats in it for you: Supportive Team Pay rate: $48.10 ph.
