The Sleepover Recovery Worker role is integral to the PARC program as it involves working closely with participants to support healthy evening routines whilst at PARC. As a Sleepover Recovery Worker, you will use your skills to approach situations with a calming lens, have the ability to support people as they wind down for the night or just sit quietly with someone and connect in moments of need. You will have a good sense of how to address emerging risks and support people through potential distress. Sleepover shifts are active from 5pm to 11pm, then inactive sleepover (with the ability to wake up and convert to active if required) and active again from 7am –9am to support early morning routines and handover. The areas of responsibility for this role include but are not limited to: Engage participants and developing professional and trusting relationships Participation in the delivery and support of the PARC group program and responsibility for at least one agreed group activity per week Assistance for participants with activities of daily living Provide direct practical support to participants to attain the skills required to meet the goals identified to ensure social inclusion Encourage linkages into a range of activities to support achievement of goals, including all other Wellways services Fortnight Roster (Week 1 - Tuesday and Thursday sleepover shifts, Sunday AM shift; Week 2 - Mon and Tue AM shifts), totalling 37.5 hours a fortnight. About the program PARC programs are collaborative services between Wellways and Melbourne Health through its division North Western Mental Health service (NWMH). It is a step up, step down short stay residence that provides clinical and psychosocial support to participants, to prevent the need for hospitalization or after an inpatient stay to support ongoing recovery. Our multidisciplinary recovery teams are creative, motivated and focused on ensuring positive experiences for participants and their loved ones. What do you need?
