WSP’s Sydney Building Services team is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer (Senior Associate / Associate Director level) to take responsibility for the mechanical services design on a major new CBD station project. This is a technically complex, high‑profile transport environment requiring strong leadership, coordination skills and deep building services expertise. The Opportunity You will lead the mechanical design package from concept development through detailed design and final documentation , ensuring high performance, safety, maintainability and seamless integration across the station precinct. The role involves extensive collaboration with architects, builders, transport stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams. What You Will Do Lead mechanical building services design for a large, complex underground station Develop concept, schematic and detailed design documentation for all mechanical building systems Coordinate closely with architecture, electrical, fire, structural, sustainability and digital engineering Manage design reviews, risk assessments, optioneering and technical decision‑making Ensure documentation quality, compliance with standards and alignment with operational requirements Guide, mentor and support junior mechanical engineers Liaise directly with the client, builder and key partners to resolve issues and drive progress About You Strong consulting background in mechanical building services design Experience delivering complex projects such as stations, precincts, hospitals, airports or large commercial buildings Proven ability to lead mechanical design through all stages, including concept and detailed design Strong understanding of mechanical plant design, resilience, maintainability and system integration Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management capability Degree in Mechanical Engineering; CPEng highly regarded Why WSP Flexible hybrid working options Access to national and global technical specialists Pathways into senior technical leadership Purchased leave, wellbeing programs and parental leave benefits Opportunity to shape a major CBD transport asset Apply Now If you're ready to lead the mechanical design of a significant new station project in the Sydney CBD, we’d love to speak with you.
