With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Food Service Dietitian to join the Dietetics Department.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses:  Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.   About the Role:  This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, review and auditing of nutrition and food service menus, as well as the maintenance of the electronic menu management system, policies, procedures,â¯standardsâ¯and practices across both food service models.  T he role collaborates closely with the Grade 3 Food Service Dietitian, Food Services, Dietetics, Speech Pathology and Support Services to ensure the nutritional and dietary needs of patients and residents are met in accordance with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, and the Nutrition and Quality Food Standards for Victorian Hospitals and Aged Care (adult and paediatric).â¯Â  The Senior Food Service Dietitian also leads the Dietetics Food Service Portfolio, ensures compliance with the Healthy Choices Policy Directive, and contributes to the education and development of students and healthcare professionals through supervision and teaching.â¯Â   To be successful in this role you will have:  Minimumâ¯10â¯yearsâ experience in dietetics, including sound background knowledge of food servicesâ¯Â Experience workingâ¯withâ¯food services, includingâ¯service developmentâ¯and electronic menu management operationsâ¯â¯Â Knowledge and ability to manage current issues related to food safety and food standards.â¯Â Experience in implementing quality programs/projects and strategic plans.â¯â¯Â Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and an ability to network and draw on externalâ¯expertiseâ¯within the area of food servicesâ¯â¯Â High level knowledge ofâ¯Menu Managementâ¯softwareâ¯Â High Levelâ¯negotiation and conflict resolution skillsâ¯â¯â¯Â Competent computer skills particularly in word processing and Internet use, and the ability to learnâ¯dedicated softwareâ¯â¯â¯Â Understanding of the cultural diversity of the communityâ¯â¯â¯Â  Next Steps . . .  If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you. Please click on the  'Apply'  button and follow the prompts.   For further details, please refer to the Position Description .
