Sapphire feedlot Pty Ltd, a privately owned vertically integrated agribusiness is looking for an Agricultural Husbandry Technician . The role of Agricultural Technician works within a team environment and enjoys the variety of being responsible for ensuring the health, nutrition and welfare of our animals at all times. Ensuring adequate and correct rations are supplied to animals, ensuring desired end weights are met. Receival and induction of all animals into program, ensuring accurate record keeping. Accurate recording and data capture relating to animal movements, treatment and processes. Monitoring of animal health. Administering of medication to sick animals, when necessary, in consultation with Veterinary staff. Delivery of feed to animals using modern machinery, ensuring correct feed allocated to animals to create desired finishing results. Operation of heavy machinery when necessary, including but not limited to Front End loader, Feed Truck, Skid steer. Performance of general repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment as required including the use of grinder, welder, and other power tools. Safe and effective livestock handling. Reporting to the Feed Mill Manager, we are looking for someone who is an all-rounder: AQF Advanced Diploma or equivalent, or at least three years of relevant experience A team player Has effective communication skills Has a willingness to learn Has good attention to detail and time management skills Has a C class drivers license Has an unwavering commitment to animal welfare and quality, along with: Has demonstrated experience handling cattle and managing livestock Has competency to safely handle and ride horses In return you will receive: A salary package between $77,000 - $85,000 per annum base income, plus superannuation.
