We are committed to reducing domestic and family violence (DFV) by targeting men as a primary change agent. The Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) operates in Darwin and Wadeye, supporting men who have used violent, abusive, and/or controlling behaviours within family and intimate partner relationships to develop and maintain respectful attitudes and behaviours. The program prioritises the safety of women and children and is delivered with strong cultural integration, particularly in Wadeye, where local knowledge and multi-day activities are key to effective interventions. The Role: We are seeking a dedicated MBCP Practitioner to lead the program in Wadeye. This role involves: Facilitating 24-week group programs, including intake, assessment, risk management, and individual outreach support. Supporting participants to develop respectful behaviours through evidence-informed, culturally appropriate interventions. Collaborating with local DFV services, community stakeholders, and other CCNT programs. Contributing to program design, policies, procedures, and evaluation methods. Maintaining accurate records, case notes, and reports as required. Representing CatholicCare NT professionally at community and sector events. This position is place-based in Wadeye, with occasional weekend work balanced by equivalent time off. Key Selection Criteria Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification (degree, post-graduate, or associate diploma) with substantial experience, or equivalent extensive experience. Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly working with Indigenous communities. Understanding of the gendered nature of domestic and family violence. Experience in evidence-based interventions, including group facilitation, risk assessment, and case planning. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including report writing. Desirable: Experience delivering group interventions in cross-cultural settings. Experience facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (minimum 100 hours). Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate in Men’s Family Violence (or equivalent). Requirements & Conditions Australian citizen or permanent resident with unlimited work rights. Valid NT Driver’s License and Ochre Card. Working with Children Clearance/Ochre Card prior to commencement. Satisfactory criminal history check and, if applicable, international criminal history check. Commitment to a non-smoking working environment.
