Steamatic is a national leader in disaster recovery and restoration services. As part of the Tasmania expansion, we are recruiting Restoration Technicians to support the local operation, working alongside a newly appointed Tasmania Branch Manager. This is a hands-on, operational role suited to people who enjoy practical work, variety, and making a real difference for customers during critical events. About the Role As a Restoration Technician, you will work across a range of residential, commercial, and insurance-based jobs, assisting with cleaning and restoration following fire, water, mould, storm, and other damage events. Key responsibilities include: Performing restoration and cleaning works as scheduled Using equipment, machinery, and chemicals safely and correctly Communicating professionally with customers on-site Completing job reporting, documentation, and timesheets accurately Maintaining vehicles, equipment, and work areas to required standards Participating in an on-call roster for after-hours and emergency response work Working safely and in line with WHS policies and procedures This role involves physical work and may include after-hours, weekend, and emergency call-outs. About You You are reliable, practical, and customer-focused, with the ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. You will ideally have: A strong work ethic and willingness to learn Good communication and customer service skills Ability to work in physically demanding environments A current driver's licence, general construction induction training card (GCIT) and ability to obtain a police & working with vulnerable people checks Flexibility to participate in on-call and emergency work Experience in cleaning, restoration, trades, construction, or insurance-related work is advantageous, but not essential. Full training will be provided . However, right attitude is a must.
