Role purpose: Carry out high-quality wall and floor tiling across residential projects, delivering neat finishes, correct falls and waterproofing compliance, and a clean, safe worksite. Key responsibilities: Prepare surfaces (check levels, remove/repair substrates, install sheeting/underlay where required). Set out and nstall wall and floor tiles (ceramic, porcelain, stone, mosaics) to drawings and agreed layouts. Install screeds and ensure correct falls to drains in wet areas (showers, bathrooms, laundries, balconies where applicable). Carry out waterproofing to Australian Standards and manufacturer requirements (if licensed/qualified to do so), including wet area prep and detailing. Mix and apply adhesives, grouts, primers and sealers correctly. Cut tiles accurately (straight cuts, mitres, penetrations, niches) with clean edges and minimal waste. Install trims, movement joints, expansion joints and transitions as required. Maintain tidy work areas and protect finished surfaces. Identify and report site issues early (out-of-square walls, substrate movement, waterproofing defects, delays). Follow WHS requirements: PPE, safe manual handling, silica dust control, and safe tool use. Quality standards: Consistent lines, levels, spacing, and neat finishes. Waterproofing and wet-area works compliant with relevant Australian Standards and building requirements. High attention to detail around corners, niches, drains, and visible edges. Required tickets / qualifications: Certificate III in Wall & Floor Tiling or Equivalent Minimum 3 years of work experience Demonstrated residential tiling experience (apprentice, trade qualified, or proven capability). Construction White Card (mandatory in QLD). Driver’s licence and reliable transport. Own tools preferred (especially for subcontract roles). Desirable: Waterproofing certification/licence (where applicable). Experience in new builds and renovations. Ability to read plans and work to set-out measurements. Good communication and time management. Personal attributes: Pride in workmanship and strong attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Safety-minded and respectful on occupied renovation sites.
