Townsville Grammar School is one of the original Grammar Schools of Queensland. The Year 7-12 campus is located on the original site at North Ward. Townsville Grammar School is seeking an experienced and proactive Cleaning Operations Supervisor to lead the delivery of high-quality cleaning and laundry services across the School’s campuses. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for coordinating daily operations, supporting staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff across three campuses and laundry staff at North Ward Support recruitment, onboarding, induction and training in liaison with HR Ensure classrooms, offices, boarding facilities and shared spaces are cleaned to a high standard Oversee laundry operations to meet day-to-day school requirements Conduct inspections and quality control checks to ensure consistent standards Manage cleaning and laundry schedules, resources, inventory and equipment Monitor external service providers (waste, recycling, sanitary services) Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment Identify and escalate safety, risk and operational issues Contribute to budgeting, cost control, equipment lifecycle planning and recycling initiatives Skills, Qualifications & Experience Proven experience in cleaning, facilities or operational services supervision Strong working knowledge of WHS practices and safe handling of cleaning materials Experience coordinating staff and services across multiple sites A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously Strong organisational and communication skills A current driver’s licence A Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain one) A position description can be downloaded here .
