Staff Specialist Geriatrician Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital | NSW Permanent | Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist Geriatrician to join its expanding and highly valued Older Persons Medicine service. This is an opportunity to deliver comprehensive, high-quality geriatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, supported by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Practitioner and multidisciplinary team. The Role The successful applicant will play a key role in improving health outcomes for older people across the region. You will provide expert assessment and management of complex, multifactorial internal medicine conditions impacting cognition, mobility, and functional status — generally in patients aged 65 and over (with exceptions as clinically appropriate). The role spans: Acute inpatient geriatric care Outpatient clinics Community and residential aged care liaison Multidisciplinary case management Service development and quality improvement initiatives This position offers meaningful clinical scope and the opportunity to shape older persons’ services within a major rural referral hospital.
