Case Manager ESP Location – Parramatta (Hybrid) Employment type – Temporary full-time role for 11.5 months Salary - $113,574.00 pa - $125,719.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The Engagement & Support Program (ESP) provides intensive, evidence‑informed case management support to individuals and families across NSW with complex needs. As a Case Manager, you will work directly with participants to deliver interventions that promote safety, reduce risks, and support long‑term behaviour change and community connection. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team within Women, Family & Community Safety (WFCS), Strategy, Policy and Commissioning. What you’ll do In this role you will be responsible for the following: • Deliver accountable and culturally responsive case management • Undertake triage, assessment, risk analysis and formulation for complex clients • Develop, implement and review goal‑focused case plans • Provide direct support to participants and liaise with their families/support networks • Partner with NSW Police, NGOs, government agencies and multidisciplinary teams • Prepare case documentation, updates, risk assessments, reports and progress summaries • Maintain accurate records and contribute to program evaluation • Participate in professional development and reflective practice to ensure evidence‑based service delivery The Engagement and Support Unit (ESU), part of the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), is a specialised team dedicated to the prevention and early intervention of violent extremism. Recognised both nationally and internationally for its work in countering violent extremism (CVE), the DCJ ESU contributes to national best practices in CVE interventions. The unit collaborates closely with Commonwealth and NSW agencies in delivering programs such as the Engagement and Support Program (ESP) and the Step Together Helpline. The ESU aims to reduce the risk of violent extremism by providing early intervention and support to address the causes, social, psychological, and/or behavioural issues leading to an escalation into violence. Our primary focus is on diversion and maintaining disengagement, involving active collaboration with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, government agencies, medical and mental Ill-health practitioners, families, non-government organisations and services, along with culturally appropriate mentoring services. Engagement and Support Program (ESP): ESP use individualised case management incorporating structured professional judgement using trauma-informed approaches, and a risk, needs, and responsivity approach when engaging with individuals considered vulnerable to engaging in, supporting, or have engaged in violent extremism. What we’re looking for In addition to the essential requirements outlined in the role description, the ideal candidate will have: Skills, Knowledge & Experience (Minimum requirement) • Demonstrated experience working with clients with complex and high‑risk needs • Experience working within multidisciplinary and multi‑agency environments • Strong assessment, planning and intervention skills • Ability to develop and review case plans using evidence and risk frameworks • Experience preparing client reports or documentation for internal or external stakeholders • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work autonomously when required Desirable experience • Experience in mental health, behavioural intervention, community services, corrective services or related support programs • Knowledge of strategies for working with vulnerable people and communities • Experience liaising with law enforcement and/or multi‑agency case panels Download the role description.
