Permanent Full-time (average of 38 hours per week) The City of Rockingham is located 40km south of the Perth CBD and is one of the fastest growing local governments in the south metropolitan area. This role is responsible for coordinating the Residential Design Team, who assess and determine Development Approval applications for residential developments. The team work alongside the Building Surveyors to streamline the applications. While supervising the day-to-day activities and operations of the team, you will also be coordinating the implementation of projects and programs undertaken by the Residential Design Team. Demonstrated experience within building surveying or planning roles is essential, as is a strong knowledge of the Residential Design codes. A recognised building industry or planning qualification is also essential along with a C Class drivers’ licence. To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your application: Comprehensive knowledge of Residential Design Codes and residential planning practices, policies and procedures A recognised building industry qualification appropriate under the Building Services (Registration) Act 2011 , Building Services (Registration) Regulations 2011 , or a planning qualification Sound knowledge of legislation and relevant statutes, regulations that are applied by Building Services Highly developed written and verbal communication skills Highly developed negotiation, decision-making and analytical skills Significant experience in local government, state government or building industry This position offers a salary from $116,412 to $128,590 per annum (dependent on skills and experience).
