Crossroads Hotel Narrabri restaurant on the Narrabri has new positions available. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Chef to lead our team. We can offer flexible or set rosters across 7 days (lunch and dinner shifts). Successful candidates should possess the following: What you’ll be doing About the Role You will be overseeing day-to-day operations in the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, developing menus and playing a vital role in delivering excellent service to our community. Your responsibilities will include: Efficiently and effectively coordinate and conduct high quality food preparation. Ensure compliance with Food Safety programs and relevant Health and Safety regulations. Promote a culture of essential hygiene practices and ensuring a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen. Assisting in developing cost-effective menus and waste minimisation strategies. Ensuring efficient stock control and effective kitchen management. may select and train staff may freeze and preserve foods planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff Regional lifestyle with a strong, loyal local customer base What We're Looking For Reliable and committed team players Positive, can-do attitude – we are a small team that works closely together Strong attention to detail Up-to-date knowledge of food trends and techniques Passion for creating dishes that keep guests coming back About You We are seeking someone who is organised and tidy, has great time management skills and basic financial acumen. Our ideal Chef will have: Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery and/or previous experience in large catering operations. Well-developed organisational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritise with fluctuating workloads and changing priorities. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain positive and effective partnerships with internal and external customers.
