We're looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team maintaining and constructing Council buildings and infrastructure across the region. What's on Offer $45.80 per hour super Monday to Friday - 6:30am to 3:00pm (early finish = work/life balance ) Stable, full-time hours Variety of maintenance and construction work Supportive team environment ️ What You'll Be Doing Carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance on Council assets Building, repairing and maintaining structures and infrastructure Reading and interpreting plans and specifications Working with hand tools and small plant safely and efficiently Completing work orders on time and to a high standard Assisting with inspections and condition reporting Organising materials and assisting with quotes within budget Identifying hazards, risks or issues and reporting to your Supervisor Working alongside other trades, labourers and teams Mentoring crew members when required Contributing ideas to improve how we do things This role offers a great mix of maintenance and project work - no two days are the same. ✅ What You'll Bring Certificate III in Carpentry Solid experience in construction and maintenance Ability to read plans and drawings Strong knowledge of building codes and WHS requirements White Card Current "C" Class Driver Licence Working at Heights (or willingness to obtain) First Aid (or willingness to obtain) Strong teamwork skills and a safety-first mindset Desirable: Local government experience "B" Class Asbestos Removal Licence Physical Requirements This is a hands-on role involving: Outdoor work Climbing ladders and accessing trenches Bending, lifting and working in awkward positions Carrying materials (up to 25kg regularly, 35kg occasionally) Operating tools and equipment daily You'll need to complete a Functional Capacity Evaluation, provide a Police Check, and be willing to receive required immunisations.
