This contract role is ideally suited to someone who is personable, a great communicator, understands disability, and is passionate about employment and achieving great outcomes for people with a disability. About the role: Based in Community Participation and reporting to the Senior Manager, the Disability Employment Pathway Lead plays an important role in making meaningful employment possible for people participating in Araluen’s programs. This role is responsible for building and sustaining inclusive employer partnerships that translate participant strengths, aspirations, and support needs into real‑world work experience and employment opportunities. Through trusted relationships with employers, councils, and community partners, the Disability Employment Pathway Lead creates pathways that move beyond placement to lasting employment outcomes. Skills And Experiences Skills Required for the role Communication: Excellent communication including the ability to tailor messages to different audiences such as employers, participants and families. Person-Centred Focus: Commitment to person-centred approaches, promoting choice, control and independence. Empathy: Ability to work with vulnerable community groups Partnership Development: Demonstrated ability to build, nurture and sustain relationships with employers, community partners, and local councils. Networking: Ability to connect with diverse stakeholders to create employment opportunities and work experiences. Job Development: Ability to translate participant aspirations into real-world work experience. Inclusion Knowledge: Knowledge of disability employment practices, accessibility and removing barriers to employment. Key Selection Criteria Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or a related field (or working toward). Previous experience working in employer engagement, recruitment or community partnerships. Knowledge of disability employment services or related fields (preferred). Knowledge of ATO and Centrelink obligations for Employers and Disability Support Pension participants. Understanding of compliance requirements in employment contexts. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
