Gungahlin College (GNGC) is located in the North/Gungahlin Network and caters for a diverse range of students from year 10 (specialised program) to year 12, supporting the learning of almost 1200 students. We have a staff of 100 teachers, learning support and administration professionals. Gungahlin College is seeking a substantive School Leader B to join a dynamic and innovative leadership team in leading School Improvement and assisting the Principal to manage the human, financial and physical resources of the school, to achieve optimal social and educational outcomes for all students. As a leader in the school’s Senior Executive team, the successful applicant will collaboratively develop and lead the strategic direction of the school, using a distributive model, to build the capabilities and effectiveness of the leadership and teaching teams. They will support the Principal in ensuring organisational effectiveness and accountability, demonstrate the vision and values of the school in everyday work and practice, and manage the North Training Registered Training Organisation (RTO), delivering quality Vocational Education and Training to students in the North Gungahlin area. The successful applicant will also undertake an appropriate teaching load and other school wide duties as determined by the Principal. The successful applicant will: Provide professional leadership in all aspects of the school's operations, including oversight, support and coaching of the college’s School Leader Cs (SLC) and specialist administrative staff to effectively meet their organisational responsibilities Monitor compliance with policies, procedures and accountability systems in accordance with relevant legislation and implement quality systems for assessment, evaluation and accountability across the school Provide strategic leadership of Human Resources at the college, by managing whole school staffing and timetabling processes in line with Staff Validation, including workforce planning, recruitment strategies and selection processes Support the Principal to and Business Manager to manage current resources and identify future needs across the school in line with the annual Student Resource Allocation (SRA) allocation, including strategic analysis of the staffing and resourcing (SSEMS) staffing projection to devise strategies for budgetary constraints Lead ACT Senior Secondary Certification processes within the college, supporting the academic performance of students through oversight of Packaging requirements, Australian Tertiary Admission Ranks (ATAR), ACT Certification System (ACS) Markbooks, Meshing, Scores and Scaling Lead Quality Assurance through Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) Moderation processes and BSSS Curriculum alignment Lead the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Team in the ongoing registration of Gungahlin and Dickson Colleges as North Training by: enrolling, engaging and supporting students in VET courses, leading compliance and ongoing training and qualifications to deliver VET courses, building networks and partnerships with Industry and other RTOs in the delivery of VET options for GNGC students, supporting VET teachers to gain and maintain VET qualifications and managing VET Certification processes Collaborate with the Associate Principal Student Supports to plan, structure, staff, resource, deliver and evaluate the Thrive Tutor Group model for student wellbeing, academic and pathways success at Gungahlin College Support the Principal to establish and maintain positive connections with the community through strategic leadership of the GNGC Communications, fostering transition and cluster relationships, as well as event management of key school events such as the Year 12 Graduation. Eligibility/Other requirements: A minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification. Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute ( TQI ) or eligibility to obtain. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
