About the Role As our Practice Lead for Cloud Evolution, you will define strategy, offerings, evolve our technical capability, and mentor our most experienced consultants, while remaining hands‑on with some of the most challenging AWS transformation programs in Australia. You’ll champion best‑practice AWS architecture, large‑scale platform migration patterns, and emerging AI‑driven automation across our customer engagements. Additionally you will be a primary interface to our AWS Partnership, champion our Well Architected Framework (WAFR) programs, develop collateral and conduct opportunity tracking in line with Cevo’s AWS Strategic Collaboration Agreement. This role combines thought leadership, strategic influence, technical depth and delivery excellence. What You’ll Lead Practice Leadership & Strategy Set the strategic direction for Cloud Evolution on the AWS platform for our clients including Platform Engineering and Migration capabilities. Develop and evolve offerings, frameworks, blueprints and accelerators. Shape the adoption of AI-powered AWS tools (Bedrock, SageMaker, Kiro, CloudWatch AI insights, generative automation patterns, etc.). Ensure technical excellence, consistency and modern engineering standards across the practice. Delivery & Migration Excellence Oversee major cloud transformation programs—especially complex or high‑risk migrations. Lead platform architecture for modernisation, containerisation, serverless, landing zones and multi‑account governance. Guide teams through migration accelerators, planning and remediation strategies and risk management. Maintain a strong presence on strategic advisory and complex delivery work. People Leadership & Capability Development Mentor Principals, Leads and Senior Consultants. Drive capability uplift in AWS platform engineering, IaC, DevOps, landing zones, migration tooling and AI-driven automation. Contribute to hiring, talent development and workforce planning. Customer, Partner & Market Engagement Act as a senior technical authority in executive briefings and key customer workshops. Strengthen Cevo’s partnership with AWS, including co-selling and joint solutioning. Contribute thought leadership through blogs, events, community engagement and conference speaking. What You Bring Deep expertise in AWS platform engineering, large-scale migrations and modernisation patterns. Strong architectural capability across cloud-native design, DevOps, IaC, CI/CD, container platforms and observability. Hands-on experience with AI tools in the AWS ecosystem, such as: Amazon Bedrock SageMaker AWS Kiro & AI‑assisted development tooling AI-enabled optimisation for cost, security and operations Demonstrated leadership experience guiding senior consultants and influencing organisation-wide strategy. Strong consulting capability—pre‑sales, solutioning, architecture reviews and executive stakeholder engagement. A passion for coaching, mentoring and building high-performing teams.
