Your Impact Take the next step in your career as an Engine Room Operator at our Yatala site. In this autonomous, hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical site utilities that keep our brewery and packaging operations running smoothly. You’ll operate and monitor systems including steam (boilers), water and reverse osmosis, refrigeration, CO₂, compressed air, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant, ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and compliance. You’ll also play a key role in identifying issues, applying structured problem-solving, and supporting continuous improvement across site utilities. Please note: You’ll initially work a 38-hour week on Day Shift, before transitioning to a 12-hour rotating roster across days and nights within a 24/7 operation once fully trained. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain critical utilities including boilers/steam, refrigeration, CO₂, compressed air, water treatment, reverse osmosis, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant Monitor plant performance using HMI/OWS systems and respond to deviations from standard Apply structured problem-solving tools (e.g. PIs, 5 Whys, reaction plans) to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement Conduct and record routine preventative maintenance activities and statutory inspections Maintain accurate shift logs and inspection records to ensure effective shift handovers Safely handle hazardous substances, including ammonia, ethanol brine, acids, and compressed gases Support utilities improvement and upgrade projects, including working with contractors Operate assets efficiently to optimise reliability, performance, and running costs Work in line with Asahi’s safety, quality, and compliance standards About You We’re looking for a safety-focused, self-motivated operator who enjoys working independently, takes ownership of plant performance, and has a strong operational mindset. Experience in industrial refrigeration or water treatment is highly regarded, but attitude, reliability, and alignment to Asahi’s values are just as important. You’ll bring: Experience in a similar utilities, engine room, or process operations role (manufacturing, FMCG, industrial or similar) A strong safety-first mindset and confidence working with hazardous substances A continuous improvement mindset and structured problem-solving approach Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience in industrial refrigeration systems and/or water treatment plants (highly regarded) Advanced Boiler Operator ticket (preferred, but training can be provided) A forklift licence or willingness to obtain one Competence using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and exposure to SAP (advantageous) Ability to navigate HMI/OWS systems to control complex processes Why Asahi Beverages?
