About the Role As the Internal Maintenance Service (IMS) Leading Hand, you will play a hands-on leadership role supporting the delivery of high-quality, customer focussed grounds and property maintenance across CHL properties in the region. Working closely with the IMS Coordinator and onsite Maintenance Operatives, you’ll balance practical trade-based work with coordination, mentoring and stakeholder engagement. This is a key role that contributes directly to CHL’s vision of a world without housing poverty. You’ll help ensure maintenance services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while fostering a respectful and positive working environment. Key responsibilities include: Undertaking hands-on gardening, maintenance and cleaning tasks Coordinating daily works to ensure jobs are completed on time and to standard Providing day-to-day onsite supervision and mentoring of Maintenance Operatives Maintaining accurate records and completing associated administrative tasks Providing advice on maintenance issues and liaising with internal and external stakeholders Managing feedback and complaints related to maintenance services Supporting wider team activities and providing cross-coverage where required Upholding WHS legislation and CHL health and safety policies at all times Living and demonstrating CHL’s values in every interaction About You You are a practical, reliable and proactive team player with experience in the trade or maintenance industry. You enjoy leading by example, mentoring others on the job, and taking pride in delivering quality outcomes, even when things are busy or challenging. You will bring: Demonstrated experience and knowledge within a trade or maintenance environment A strong commitment to safe work practices and risk awareness The ability to supervise, guide and support team members onsite Strong communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with stakeholders A positive, calm and resilient approach to work Good organisational skills and attention to detail with record keeping Alignment with CHL’s values and a genuine commitment to quality housing for all Essential Requirements Current Driver’s Licence Satisfactory Police Check and Working With Children Check Commitment to the right of every person to good quality housing Why Join Us?
