Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits Adelaide CBD Full Time, Permanent Role About the role As the Head of the Genomics Unit, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and cost-effective diagnostic pathology service. Drawing on your professional expertise and experience, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to support the accurate, timely and clinically relevant delivery of genomics services that contribute to improved patient outcomes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, coordinating scientific, technical, operational and data entry functions to ensure optimal performance. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and documentation, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement across the Genomics Unit. About You You are an experienced and accountable medical scientist with strong leadership capability, extensive diagnostic expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accredited pathology services. Appropriately qualified under NPAAC requirements, with extensive scientific experience across multiple pathology disciplines and the ability to provide professional opinion on the clinical significance of diagnostic findings. Demonstrated leadership and people management capability, including motivating and coordinating teams, managing performance, resolving conflict, and supporting education, training and workforce development. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience implementing service improvements, managing change, and delivering high-quality outcomes under pressure with attention to detail. Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic pathology operations, quality and accreditation frameworks (NATA/NPAAC), governance, WHS, budget and resource management, supported by advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
