The role of Landside Services Operations Manager at Townsville Airport is reporting directly to the Landside Services Operations Manager. The role will full time working 40hours per week Monday to Friday. The primary purpose of the Landside Services Operations Manager is to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our airport car parking, kerbside facilities and manage security awareness and observations around the Landside areas. This hands‑on role is ideal for a customer‑focused operational leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, public‑facing environment and is committed to delivering safe, efficient, and positive customer experiences. About the Role As Car Park Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance, customer service delivery, and on‑ground oversight of the airport's car parking facilities, kerbside operation and Patrol schedule. You will act as the primary escalation point of contact for car park‑related enquiries, access issues, and system faults, while maintaining strong situational awareness across all parking and kerbside areas. The role also includes incident reporting, and security observation to support the safe operation of airport landside areas. Key Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day operations of airport car parks and kerbside locations Respond to customer enquiries relating to parking access, payments, and wayfinding Operate car park and intercom systems to assist customers entering and exiting facilities Monitor CCTV systems and identify, escalate, and report operational or security issues Conduct kerbside duties and maintain situational awareness across landside areas Use multiple IT systems for reporting, monitoring, and data entry Communicate clearly via handheld radios and operational communication channels Complete incident reports and maintain accurate operational records Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service About You You are calm, decisive, and customer‑focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a live operational environment. You communicate clearly, maintain professionalism under pressure, and are comfortable working independently while supporting broader airport operations. Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in a customer service or operations‑focused role Strong verbal and written English communication skills Professional phone manner and experience working rotating shifts High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to learn and operate new parking and operational systems efficiently Strong problem‑solving, multitasking, and decision‑making skills Positive, approachable attitude with excellent interpersonal skills Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and work under pressure Willingness to undertake further training (e.g. First Aid, Traffic Control) Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Police Check Be part of a customer‑focused, safety‑driven team
