About the role: The Senior Manager, Health Service Third Party and Own Source Revenue p lays a critical role in maximising revenue for Health Services. This involves coordinating, developing, and implementing strategies to optimise income from various sources, including Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS), private patient fees, Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims, WorkSafe (WSV) claims, Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) funding and Aged Care reforms. This role leads the development of sector-facing components for third-party revenue initiatives. By providing expert advice and developing compelling third-party revenue initiatives, this position supports the financial sustainability and objectives of Hospitals Victoria and the broader health sector. About you: An appropriate tertiary qualification in project management, health, accounting, commerce, economics, political science, public administration or public policy. A high degree of understanding and knowledge of the health system funding and hospital operations in respect of third party and own source revenue streams (MBS, private health insurance, Medicare Ineligible patients, NHRA), is incredibly important. Knowledge of the Victorian budget processes, relevant departmental systems and environments is essential. Exceptional advisory, negotiation, communication and relationship building skills, with demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context.
