A bit about the role: As the Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting Group reporting, accounting operations, and payroll processing. Working closely with the Finance Leadership Team and Payroll Manager, you’ll ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant, while helping drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes. This role offers exposure to end-to-end accounting and payroll activities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical capability and career within a large, supportive organisation. Your responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations, and intercompany recharges Monitor daily POS routines across clinics and ensure automated journals post correctly to SAGE Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with accounts payable processing via AP automation tools Support accurate financial reporting across the group Payroll Support (4–6 days per month) Under the guidance of our experienced Payroll Manager, you will: Collect, validate, and maintain payroll data Assist with payroll calculations and processing using Dayforce Support commission and bonus calculations Complete payroll audits and reconciliations Assist with STP reporting and statutory compliance Respond to employee payroll queries and provide support Assist with WorkCover, State Revenue, and superannuation reporting Process payroll transactions in SAGE and reconcile payroll bank accounts Systems, Projects & Process Improvement Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives Support finance system upgrades and enhancements Help streamline workflows and reduce manual effort Compliance & Governance Support compliance with accounting standards, payroll legislation, awards, and company policies Assist with statutory reporting and regulatory obligations Uphold corporate governance standards in line with working for a public company What you’ll need to succeed: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CA studies highly regarded) Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls Knowledge of GST, BAS, and payroll fundamentals Strong systems capability, experience with SAGE Intacct, Dayforce, Netsuite or similar ERP systems highly regarded Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving ability Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ideally 1–2 years payroll experience (training provided if you show the right aptitude) Why join Medi Aesthetics?
