The Global Health and Safety Management Systems Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's health and safety management systems across its global operations. This role involves collaborating with regional HSE teams, ensuring compliance with international standards, and driving a proactive safety culture. Key Areas of Responsibility Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Global Health and Safety Management System (HSEMS) aligned with international standards and industry best practice. Develop and maintain a document schedule for new and due revisions of Policies, Standards and Procedures. Stay informed about relevant international health and safety regulations, develop strategies to address regulatory requirements and changes. Ensure consistency and standardisation of HSE processes and procedures across all global business units. Establish and monitor performance indicators (KPIs’) for the Global HSMS Create global communications after procedural reviews. Work collaboratively with the Global Training and Compliance Manager to create training packages where required after HS documents are finalised. Manage Crisis Management Procedure including leading drills. Lead the continual improvement of HSE Management, including planning activities for developing, implementing, and maintaining best practice HSE across the global business. Develop in collaboration with Global HSE Management Team an internal HSE audit program, including compliance in all regions to provide assurance that HSE systems and their related procedures are being implemented at every level of the organisation. Maintain appropriate communication and consultation across stakeholders, both internally and externally to ensure HSE management system is performing and responding to the business requirements. Person Specification Demonstrated experience and exposure to managing and continually improving HSE, including management systems across a global, multi-site organisation Knowledge of global safety legislation frameworks and advanced researching skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills, an excellent communicator both oral and written with the ability to develop lasting relationships Ability to build and maintain professional relationships Positive attitude, with positive contribution to teamwork, and sound people and team development skills Be able to undertake tasks with minimal instruction using effective time management and organisational skills Multi-disciplined and ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, including management of conflicting priorities High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to write effective reports Committed and motivated to achieving Company and team vision, goals and objectives Ability to travel on assignments as required both nationally and internationally Qualifications and Experience Formal qualifications (degree level) in Health, Safety and Environment, or related discipline (Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded) Minimum 10 (at least 5 years site based) years of demonstrated experience across health, safety and environment in an energy, oil and gas or related industry across multi-site and international operations Experience working with ISO systems (Lead auditor qualifications will be highly regarded) Appropriate leadership and supervisory experience Demonstrated experience in compliance management and auditing Demonstrated understanding of HSE processes, including Permit to Work, Isolation, Event and Injury Management, Investigations, Contractor Management, Emergency Response, Risk Management, Root Cause Analysis (ICAM or Tap Root preferred) A sound knowledge of legislative requirements and industry best practice Experience implementing new Standards and Procedures in dynamic and high-risk industries Intermediate ability with MS Office – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Holds, or ability to obtain Australian National Police Clearance Current and Drivers licence essential
