Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital You will lead and manage the clinical services after hours with the distinct objective of achieving coordinated clinical care and safe practice whilst supporting and promoting the Mission and Values of SJGHC. The Afterhours Manager will provide coverage across all wards, including after hours and weekends, and works weekday shifts scheduled from 7:30–15:30, 15:00–22:30, and 22:00–08:00. The Position Maintain a working familiarity with National, Divisional and specific After Hours Administration policies and procedures. Coordinate bed allocation and staffing to ensure optimal clinical care for each admission. Actively participate in the review and development of Divisional and specific After-Hours Administration policies and procedures. Interpret the Nursing Services philosophy, standards, competencies policies and procedures and ensure staff understand and adhere to these. Ensure work practices are reviewed when issues are identified &/or when practices are noted as being inefficient or not being contemporary or evidence-based. Encourage staff to discuss clinical aspects of patient care and nursing issues with the relevant senior nursing staff, eg. Nurse Manager, Quality & Risk Manager, Infection Control Coordinator, Deputy DON, DON. You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Nurse and minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience with demonstrated advanced and comprehensive clinical skills. To succeed you will demonstrate reliability and ability to use initiative - thereby requiring minimal supervision and guidance.
