osition: Chef - Full Time Company Overview: Baba Shrichand Pty Ltd t/a Miss India Restaurant is the leading Indian restaurant located in Browns Plains, Qld. We are known for our authentic Indian cuisine and exceptional service. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. Job Description: As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Indian dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. You will work closely with our kitchen and service team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards. Your main duties and responsibilities will include: - Preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori dishes, and vegetarian options - Ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented according to our recipes and standards - Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen at all times - Monitoring and maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies as needed - Training and supervising junior kitchen staff - Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations - Collaborating with the Culinary Head to develop new menu items and specials - Assisting with menu planning and costing - Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition - Managing food waste and controlling costs - Assisting with inventory management and stocktake - Other duties as assigned by management team. Requirements: - Minimum of 12 months of of experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant environment, preferably with experience in Indian cuisine - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification - Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques - Excellent knife skills and ability to work with various kitchen equipment - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and high standards for food quality and presentation - Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations - Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings - Valid working rights in Australia. Contract Details: This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $76000 to $82000 per year, depending on experience. Superannuation will also be provided. Location: The restaurant is located in Browns Plains, a suburb in the City of Logan, approximately 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD. The location is easily accessible by public transport.
