Back of House (BOH) Technician assist with all BOH duties and functions as required for any theatre production or event. Work can encompass bump in/bump out, rehearsal, performance and general maintenance periods. BOH Technicians are expected to be able to work autonomously on given tasks in the theatre and exercise discretion when undertaking their duties. They act as a representative of the State Theatre Technical Department and must be able to communicate clearly and positively with touring production parties. Duties include (but are not limited to): Lift operation Loading/unloading vehicles Fly system operation Fly system loading Rigging/focusing lighting fixtures Follow spot operation General staging setup Show cue operation Assist with the setup, operation and monitoring of all BOH equipment and assets including (but not limited to) lighting equipment, cinema screen, follow spots, fly system and house Lights. Assist, as required, in the maintenance of the theatre including (but not limited to) electrical systems, plumbing, fly line system, lighting, fire equipment and services, re-globing and auditorium seating.
